When we started fishing tournaments in the Bahamas other captains and anglers would tell me I had the prettiest mackerel they had ever seen and wanted to know where I had bought them. When I told them that I put up my own, the orders started coming in, and that is how Primo Baits got started! I am now in the bait business full time with Spanish mackerel as my specialty. I build special boxes with separate compartments (pictures coming soon) so the fish cannot move or touch another fish once they are caught.

I own three boats and I fish one of them, which allows me to control the quality from the time they are caught to the time they are shipped. The spots are gold and the tails are almost perfect. All of the blue fin tuna caught by the tuna fishing boats out of Cat Key and Bimini for the past four years have been caught on my mackerel, mostly by captain Alex Adler on 43' Meritt "Tracker", Captain John Sabonis on a 43' Meritt "Cats Meow", and Captain Mel Strahosky on the "Predator" & "Fighting Lady". Just recently while using one of my medium Spanish mackerel Captain Dennis Barret aboard the "Sea Wolff", caught the record Blue Marlin for the Gulf of Mexico weighing in at 1,054lbs.
